Loma Linda, California, is 60 miles west of Los Angeles, and has the highest concentration of people that live over 100. Many believe that it's due to their healthy lifestyle and that most of them are vegetarian. I'm sure that's all about to change now that McDonald's was approved to be built in a development and everybody is pissed. They Mayor said that they're "not approving a McDonald's," they're "approving a business that any restaurant could occupy."
I'll be the first one to say there are a lot of hippies in California that I just would not get along with. I don't like vegetarians as much as the next person, they're unnatural, but when they're right they're right. There has to be some reason they have the most people who live over 100 and I don't think it's magic water. I'm guessing part of it has to do with there not being a McDonald's anywhere in sight. I also like how much McDonald's has been dodging the rules lately and trying to make everybody fat, it's entertaining. When San Francisco told them their happy meals weren't healthy enough to give away a free toy with it, they charged 10 cents for the toys. That's a middle finger to everybody involved.
TL;DR Loma Linda, California, is trying to stay healthy but McDonald's won't let them.
