An Italian man known only by the name of Antonio C filed for divorce last December because while going through an old chest of drawers he found love letters from his wife to somebody else, from the 1940s. Once he confronted her about it she admitted to having an affair and no matter how much she pleaded he filed for divorce. This is despite them having been married for 77 years, having five children, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. This made them the oldest the world's oldest divorcees.
I can see exactly where Antonio is coming from. I'm an old-fashioned guy and I don't take kindly to affairs. You don't get second chances from that, it's one and done. I think if the rest of the world did the same thing it would be a better place. People would immediately see that nobody is messing around anymore and the people that like to cheat would all get grouped together. I'm sure somebody is sitting at their computer thinking "he's wrong, you can work through that." No you can't, you're not going to trust that person ever again for the rest of your life so what's the point? I just feel bad for poor Antonio for not having known for so long.
TL;DR An Italian couple became the world's oldest divorcees when the husband divorced his wife because of an affair in the 1940s.
