Any sound coming from your house when you're trying to sleep is awful. You think it could be the wind, maybe a gorilla trapped in the walls or worse, the ghost of somebody who once lived in the house and suddenly has a problem with you trying to get some sleep for work in the morning. Or if you're like a woman from Rock Hill, S.C., an ex-boyfriend you dated about a decade ago living in your attic. The woman realized something was wrong when she heard a thump in the night and nails started coming out of the ceiling. What she found was an ex-boyfriend, who had rigged the ceiling vents to see into her bedroom, living in her attic. He left the house before police showed up and is still being searched for.

If there's something that will keep you awake at night it's definitely a crazy person living in your attic, shitting in cups and watching you get undressed. That's the kind of thing that happens in every horror movie ever made. It starts out with bumps in the night and then suddenly your children start to go missing. Come to find out he's been eating them in the attic because he fucking lives up there. At least that's how things always play out in my imagination with stories like these, maybe I should stop watching so much TV.
